connections

I was wondering what the concensus on how to make the best connections when adding alarm wires, do you cut the wire, twist the wire together then solder covering with electrical tape or shrink tubing or do you cut the wire and splice the alarm wire the end wire together and use butt connectors to put them together. I guess I want to know so that if I ever have to disconnect the alarm and take it out I'd like to return the car to as close as possible the original condition. Any thoughts guys?

soldering is the best way to connect wires. It is a very soild connection if done right(getting solder into both of the wires you are connecting) and it offers lowset resistance(less problems with onboard computers)

Solder is alot more secure and shrink tubing would be ideal, but if your going to use electrical tape I suggest get the quality ones like 3M. Cheap ones loses its adhisive after awhile. hope this helps, crxtasi

twist and solder is actually best, but if you wanna go the extra mile, strip back the wire, poke trhough it with a wire so it separates the wire strands into two sections, then your splicing wire would go through the existing wire, loop it trough, solder it, and last but not least tape it with "3M Supper 33 tape" this is the best tape you can buy on the marketRuben Giraldo

Always double check your wires, and not only rely on what the schematics say.
