Hello,

I think this will work but want to make sure, I ordered a DEI Hornet 553t alarm/remote start for a truck I just bought, 2004 Dakota 3.7l V6.

My question, I tested for a tach wire and found between 0.5 and 0.7v a/c on one of the ignition coils (actually #1 coil) Can I use this wire as my tach wire for the remote start??

According to the DEI manual it says: a tachometer wire will show between 1 and 6v AC.  goes on to say that on Multi-coil systems (like mine) the system can learn individual coil wires.  says Individual coil wires in multi-coil ignition system will register lower ammounts of AC voltage.

So what I can gather from the following is that the remote start system will learn the signal from my individual coil?  So it should work?

Thanks again!!!

On the 2.5L/3.9L/5.9L models use BLACK/ gray at the ignition coil. The 4.7L models have an ignition coil for each cylinder, use the wire that is NOT GREEN/ orange at one of the coils.
