HIya,

Question about this input (seen below) for the viper 550esp.

I think it's cool because it's an easy access to the valet take over mode,

but does it really start the car, too, when not running? I don't think

I like that idea. If you left the windows open (for arguments sake), and

someone reached in and pushed the button, would the car start?

Yes it would start.... but this wire is for a switch or another device that has a negative trigger output to start the remote start sequence of the remote starter. This would also be a hidden switch BTW.
