I'm trying to setup a replacement transmitter for my 790XV Viper Responder alarm system.  I bought a new 791XV replacement remote and the instructions on the packaging don't seem to work.  I followed their instructions, open door, turn key on, press valet button once then hold, then push transmitter button.  All that did was change my door lock settings to automatically lock and unlock with the engine start and shut off.  Any help would be great.  Thanks.

Crap, I think my alarm brain is locked with the bitwriter.  The alarm puts out one long chirp every time I try to do something.  Guess I can't do it myself?

not if someone locked it with the bitwriter.... we never do this... it seems a little sleazy to me to force a customer to come back to you every time he/she wants to change a feature.....
