I am trying to install a CS-865 keyless entry into a 95 Passat GLX VR6. I followed the directions given to me by the "tech" line person. He insisted that the car doesn't have vacuum locks, and it does. He told me to tap into a green and a gray wire in the drivers kick panel area. I did that and the CS unit makes some clicking sounds. When I looked closer I found another set of gray and green wires in the same basic location. I spliced into them and it does the same clicking as the first way.
Any ideas what to do or what to try?
Thanks

the tech line person is sorta correct.....you do indeed have vacuum locks, but the vacuum pump is activated by positive triggers, which are those gray and green wires. to be somewhat more precise, those wires can be located at the factory alarm module, which is higher up in the driver's kick area. or, try looking for RED / yellow and BLACK/ white wires in the bunch of wires coming from the driver's door boot.
make sure you shut the driver's door to test the locks, or else they won't move (for the same reason that you can't move the driver's lock pin with the door open). also, you need to program your keyless entry unit to double-pulse on unlock. btw, i'm not even sure if your keyless entry unit has the option of positive door lock/unlock outputs.....if not, you'll need to use 2 relays to switch them to positive.
good luck!

Are you sure that this car has positive triggered locks and not neg.? I've found the RED / yellow and BLACK/ white wires coming from the door. They are bascially next to the two sets of green and gray wires that I tried. The RED / yellow and BLACK/ white are positive, I think. The pulse from the CS unit is neg., I think. How do I do that? Is that what your saying about getting two relays and switching the current to positive?
Thanks for the help!

if your CS unit only has negative, then yes, you'll need to switch the current to positive. have a look at this:
