Hi Guyz

I have a 1996 pontiac grand am and am trying to connect the door trigger to my alarm. The problem is I can't get access to the wire. So I decided to use the domelight underneath the dash, it turns on when the door opens. The problems is, is that it has 2 wires that are constant positive when not illuminated, then when they are illuminated one positive and other nothing. I'm confused. Any help on how to wire it to my alarm would be greatly apprieated

you want to use the wire that goes to ground when the light is on...thats a neg trigger... or see if this helps:
Dome Light L GRN/BLK & L BLUE (-) AT CONVENIENCE CENTER MODULE *
* Convenience Center Module Located Behind Driver Dash To Left Of Steering Column. L GREEN/ BLACK (-) Covers Driver Door, L BLUE (-) Covers All Other Doors. Diode Isolation Needed: Cathode (Band) Side Of Diode Faces OEM Wires. See Tech Notes For Additional Notes On Dome Light Circuit.
WHITE (-) Wire At Courtesy Light Can Also Be Used For Door Trigger, But Failure Of Courtesy Light Relay Or If Parasitic Power Control Is Engaged Alarm Will Not Trigger. Parasitic Power Control- If Vehicle Is Left For 24 Days Without Ignition Switch Turned To "Run" Dome Lights Will Not Operate. Also If Battery Or Power To Convenience Center Module Is Disconnected, Dome Lights Will Not Operate After 3 days Unless Vehicle Is Driven More Than 15 Miles.
Good Luck
