Phoenix Digital Alarm

I'm installing this alarm for a friend and the install side of this alarm sucks. I hooked up the wire for the oil sensor signal behind the instrument cluster. When you go to remote start it it tries but the starter never turns over. If you put the key in there the remote start will work. Has anyone ever dealt with this type of alarm. If this was a DEI alarm I was playing with I'd be willing to bet money the tach wire hasn't been found of the starter wire was wrong. And what I did on the two starter wires was hooked up one starter wire to the other, and took acc. since you don't need that on a 92 camry and hooked that one up to the sec. starter. But the starter still won't turn over.~The Rookie~

Why did you use the 2nd ACC wire as your 2nd Starter ? You don't want the 12 volt signal to be on all the time while the remote start is on. You need to set up a relay like this, and remove the ACC wire and tape off. Make sure you separate the two starter wires as ther eis a reason why Toyota have them isolated in the first place so try to replicate this when doing the remote start.Jeff

I was sleepy when I posted the first one post..but what I did was took the starter wire from the alarm and hooked that up to the 1st starter.. And took acc. and hooked that up to the second starter wire since there are two starter wires..and this alarm doesn't have a second starter on it.~The Rookie~

umm......looking at your last post, it didn't really answer jeff's question. it looks like you pretty much said the same thing again. is that acc. wire that you connected to the 2nd starter wire programmable to be a starter wire instead? btw, howcome you said in your first post that you put the key in there and the remote start will work? that makes it sound like there's some form of factory immobilizer in place, but there shouldn't be such a thing on a 92 camry.
