i have an avital 2100 alarm trying to coexist with a prostart 3100 remote starter in a 1989 two door honda accord. the avital instructions say i can bypass all sensor inputs except the doors by connecting a diode from the hoodpin wire to neg out while running of the remote start . the only thing is that this also bypasses the door pins. when you start the car by remote the door pins also dont trigger the alarm. when the remote start cycle ends you can enter without triggering the alarm. if i remove the diode wire everything works properly but during running under remote the alarm will eventually start to chirp and then goes off. any suggestions on how these units can work together?

Use ground out when running to trigger relays that open all of the alarm triggers you wish to disable during remote start.

ie door pin:

85 G.O.

86 +12 volts

cut the door pin input going to the alarm

one side ( of the cut wire) goes to 87a, the other cut side of the cut wire goes to 30.

... now when you hit RS, the doorpin line is opened until the run time expires....

Make sure to use a diode on each device that connects to G.O.

Thank you derek123! I applied your general solution to use one relay to bypass ignition on the alarm. Now they work together and stay out of each others way.
