Hi,

I own a 99 Honda Civic Ex and i have a Apline SEC-8027A alarm which i got a few years back. And my problem is I recently had a PIAA 1000x foglight installed and the person that did the install had hooked it up to the alarm also. What it means is when i activate the alarm with the foglight on, both the parking lights and the foglight will flash.

Now i have taken out foglight and my parking light won't flash anymore when the alarm is arming or disarming.  I can't figure out what is wrong, Please help.

I have included the diagrams of the foglight and the alarm.

Did you check the parking light fuse on the alpine alarm's harness??? Maybe when you changed the fog's you may have blown that fuse.

Yes check the fuse this would make the most sense in this situation, I can't see it being anything else if you just got rid of your fog lights and didn't touch anything else.

Try hooking up the fog lights back up (not mounted) and see if it goes back to normal . I think  you changed something else maybe by accident during un-installation.

thanks for all your reply, i think i figured out what the problem is now, but still don't know how to fix it, so please help.

First, the fuse is ok, i think the problem is with the relay, 87, 87a, 30 something like that.  Because the fogligth wiring have a relay included, so when i unhook the foglight, the light doesn't flash amymore.

Now, i don't know if the installer for the foglight took my relay that is included with the alarm or not. So now if I want to hook fix my problem, How do i do it????? I have no clue how to do it because I am not familiar with relay.

Thanks.

Is there any wires left that you dont know of after you took the foglights out???? The alarm wire with a relay or not would have to tap into the parking light wire somewhere on your car can you find out where it is ????? Your parking light wire is RED / green at the fuse box it is a positive wire. Look there to see if you see the parking light wire off the alarm is conected there if not get the parking light wire off the alarm and connect it there but do this after you check the parking light wire off the alarm with a dmm to see if it is sending out a positive  or negative, the reason for this is that that alarm may have a built in parking light relay or it may have an adjustable polarity parking light output .If this alarm does not have a built in relay the installer may have set the output to - off the alarm to trigger those fog relays and that may be why you have no parking lights working because you have a positive parking light wire in your car. I hope this makes sense to you good luck.

Ok here is an update there is a yellow/white wire on the alarm you will feed that 12 volts positive then there is a white wire this wire will go to the parking light wire in your car. The parking light wire will be RED / green at the fuse box. There is no relay requied because there is one built in to the module. This is probably the best bet to just redo as you do not know what that installer did good luck.
