Alpine 8040 Jumper Settings

     I just finished installing my old Alpine 8040 in my 98 Honda Civic (Thanks 12volt, couldn't have done it without you!) There are 7 jumpers in the alarm that control whether the doors are positive/negative, passive or active arm, ect. I can't find the diagram of what each jumper setting controls. I used the diagram from an 8046 model to get an idea, but it has 8 jumpers not 7.

     I remember when it was last hooked up, it had both an inner and outer proximity sensor. If you were in the outer, the alarm would chirp and the LED’s would start flashing, the inner would trip the alarm. It doesn't do the warning chirps anymore and I'm hoping it wasn't my wiring. I am hoping it is a jumper setting. The alarm still sounds if you reach inside, so it doesn’t appear to be a faulty sensor. Any feedback would be appreciated, even if it is to tell me my first install of an alarm was flawed.

     I found the manual! In case there are others out there with my question…

     First my radar sensor operation problem. With the alarm disarmed and using the OE remote, press both the TX & EXT buttons at the same time and hold it for a second or two. Do NOT do this while in valet mode, it will start some sort of diagnostic mode. The car will chirp two times to confirm the outer radar is on, three times to confirm the outer radar is off. Problem solved.

     Second is the answer to the Topic header. The jumpers are marked by numbers and labeled which side is the on position on the main board inside the main unit. The settings are as follows.

Jumper One; “On” Auto arm on, “Off” Manual arm

Jumper Two; “On” Auto lock on, “Off” Auto lock off

Jumper Three; “On” Alarm will sound for 60 seconds, “Off” Alarm will sound for 30 seconds

Jumper Four; “On” Door sensor is interfaced to a negative door switch, ”Off” Door sensor is interfaced to a positive door switch,

Jumper Five; “On” Door lock/unlock pulse 1 second, “Off” Door lock/unlock pulse 3 seconds

Jumper Six and Seven are for the radar outer sensitivity. I have labeled them from the most sensitive to the least.
