Hello All

I have a quick question concerning best practice for installing keyless entry/ alarms with external relays.  My particular system a Commando Keyless Entry System (KE-30) requires 3 external relays.   For Dome Light, Horn Output, and  Trunk Release( Which iam goin to wire into a tail gate lock.)    These Relays all require +12volts  so i was wondering how the best way to suppuly the power need to run these relays.  Since i will get asked i  am installing this in a 2002 Ford Ranger.

1.  Can i run a  Power Feed Directly  into the cab from the battery junction box.  and Tap all 3Relays into this feed or do i have to run a separate feed for each relay

2.. If yes what would the best gauge wire to use and should i fuse it  , what size fuse should i use if so?

3.  The relays are Bosch 20/30 AMP   5-  prong relays.

You really dont need to go directly to the battery for power. Just use a 10 gauge wire to power all three. You can get power for all three at the ignition harness but make sure that you put a fuse in line with them. You should be safe with a 10 amp
