Hello peoples,

I'm about to start installing a G5 avantguard on a 2002 GMC yukon and had a question about the wire that's supposed to go to the hood pin. The yukon doesn't have a hood pin but it does have a light under the hood that lights up when it's opened. Can I use this instead of a hood pin and will it work the same way as a hood pin would? And as far as the connection goes would I just tap into the negative wire that leads to the light? Also, I actaully would prefer a hood pin, anyone know where these can be gotten, elcetronic stores?? online??

Thanks for any help and I'm sure as I continue with the install (first time doing an alarm) I'll have more questions to keep you guys busy :)

No, can't use the light. If your vehicle doesn't have a factory hood pin then you will need to add one.
