i have a 94 pontiac grand prix, i am installing a phoenix digital remote start/alarm. everything is working,windows,locks,trunk,and alarm. my problem is the remote start feature, normally i use the tach lead from the coil pak but the manufacturers specs call for a 12v source that is activated once started. they recomend using the oil pressure sensor or light in the cluster. it will start but the starter will stay engaged and then re-engage every 10 seconds. the tach lead is only providing about 6-9v and i'm assuming it isn't enough voltage for the alarms sensor. i thought about a relay to boost the output to the sensor but figured i'd post my dilema here first in case i'm overlooking something. any suggestions or help is appreciated

the tach wire is only supposed to have about 3-6 Vac, sometimes they are higher and yours sounds normal.

why do you want a tach signal for anything related to an alarm sensor? it sounds like the wire you are supposed to connect to a cluser light may be for voltage sense. is that how you have the brain programed? what doesnt make sense is everything in the car has power once the igntion is turned on, so once the remote start sequence engages it would see voltage, im guessing it just monitors it. try hooking it up to the main ignition wire and see if it works. if that wire is what i think its for, then if it doesnt see voltage it might think the car hasnt started successfully and thats why its cranking again.
