I'm thinking of installing a starter kill in a 2000 Civic.  Can I connect a "normally open" starter kill to the keyless entry module?  I'd like to end up with something that leaves the starter disabled unless the car is unlocked with keyless entry.  If I connect a negative wire (probably from a lock motor) on the keyless entry box to 85 on the relay here: https://www.the12volt.com/relays/page2.asp#sk2 will the starter be enabled when I press "unlock" on the keyless entry?  Thanks for any help...

Hi yobtah, no, that will not work.  That relay setup requires a constant ground to terminal #85 when the alarm/RKE is disarmed. If your keyless entry has a (-) armed output, you can use the relay setup shown above that one (  https://www.the12volt.com/relays/page2.asp#sk1 ). If you do not have either output, you can easily add the passive starter kill setup shown here: https://www.the12volt.com/relays/page2.asp#psk

You can take the passive starter kill setup one step further and incorporate it with your keyless entry by replacing the momentary contact switch with a relay energized by an output from your keyless entry.  Connect the Pink lead shown going to the momentary contact switch to terminal #87 of an SPDT relay, connect the red lead shown going to the momentary contact switch to terminal #30, connect terminal #86 to constant 12V+, and connect terminal #85 to a negative output from your keyless entry. When the key is in the "run" position (ignition on) and you activate the output of the keyless entry, it will allow you to start the vehicle.

If you try it, let us know how you make out.

One other note, some keyless entries do not allow you to activate any outputs with the key on so you may have to disconnect the ignition lead going to your keyless entry to be able to activate the output by remote with the ignition on. You may also want to add a toggle switch in line on the ignition lead of the keyless entry so you can program it and/or disarm it when needed.
