I have a 1992 Buick Regal 4 door and recently cut the factory RKE unit because it was faulty.  However, now my drivers door will not lock/unlock by the press of the button but all the other passenger doors do.  If I hook up the tan unlock wire for the driver door to ground the driver door will lock fine but in order to lock it, it requires positive on the same wire.  I'm trying to install a new GM aftermarket RKE (actually a Directed-DEI unit) but cannot figure out how to interface the unit with my positive lock system.  I think this is a common problem on most GM's with this type of RKE configuration but haven't found any good way to go about this as of yet.  Any help would be appreciated.

It is a front wheel drive, and as far as I know I have all of the wires correctly hooked up at the rear of the vehicle where the old keyless entry module was located.  Problem is, the driver's side switch will lock doors but not unlock and passenger side will lock also but not unlock.

It's like removing the stock keyless entry unit incompletes some of the circuits for the switches disabling their functionality...I'm stupmed.

YEs, I still have the old unit.  Just simply unhooked it.  It's strange because all of my new keyless entry feaures work just fine (priority unlock and such).  It is the original interior lock buttons that are giving my grief.  The drivers side will lock all of the doors with no problem (including itself), however, the drivers side button will NOT unlock the driver door.  The passenger side button will lock them all also but it will not unlock the driver door either.  Anyone got any ideas?

Finally figured it out.  There's an additional relay needed to be added inline with the driver's motor wire enabling the unlock wire for the rest of the doors to trigger the drivers door as well.
