im going to install an alarm myself and im looking at the 791xv. i looked over the installation instructions on directed's website and they didnt mention using relays or diodes at all. when and where should i use them? this is going in a 97 tahoe

if you have the 2 door tahoe then you would need them for the locks since its a 5 wire system. if its a 4 door then you dont need them, you most likely wont need diodes for it aswell.
