Hello everyone,
I’m in need of some help with my security system that is installed in my 1991 CRX Si. But I’m still having problems with her starting up. I de-activate my alarm and I stick my key in the ignition and I get the lights to come on in the dash and it looks fine. Then I turn the key to start her up and everything dies. NO POWER.
I’ve checked all the fuses (under the hood and in the car) nothing is wrong. I’ve checked all the grounds. Even the ones that I added extra. I checked the ECU for codes and nothing is given. I’m about to lose my mind. I have a battery relocation kit in the truck, and its grounded right. The main fuse looks fine. The MSD ignition system 6A is fine. Or it looks fine, I should say there isn’t a way to check it that I know of.
Please help I'm losing my mind.
I also charged the battery for 10 minutes and nothing.
Is the car alarm not working correctly and some how not allowing me to start the car?

It does come back on when I try to start it up again, but I have to wait about 5 minutes for the power to come back on. Then when I go to crank the motor all the power dies again.

My father-in-law just went through something simliar.  His alarm was not letting him start his car either.  Ended up being the alarm itself.  They deactivated it by pulling the fuse which allowed him to drive it.  But he had to get a new alarm installed.  The old one was about 7 years old and we think it may have buggered up when he replaced the battery in his fob.

I had a similar problem with a remote start system, make sure you have a good source of 12v in the car for the alarm if you rewired the ignition circuit for starter kill through the alarm Hope this helps, good luck

Dead battery. There is nothing else stated that would cause the dash lights to go out but a dead battery.

That you all for your help, I'm a little lost about the ign. switch replace that i need to do. Where can I find that on my car? What does it look like? Is there a site I can get information on it? How much is these going to cost if I do it myself.

Thank you Michael
