I ordered a set of OE style actuators for the 65 mustang; they're a centralized, 5 wire design. I have never dealt with a 5 wire set up before, so I have no idea how to connect the alarm into it. The Viper 350hv manual says that the two door lock wires coming off the brain are GREEN= (-) lock and (+) unlock output, and BLUE= (-)unlock, and (+) lock output.

I don't think the harness for the actuators was built with the intention of an aftermarket alarm...all it gives me for a diagram is to connect a brown wire for ground, and a RED / black for constant power....

I'm comparing this relay to a bosch style one, and from what I can tell...

87=3              87a=2         30= +      85=1m         86=2m

Hopefully that will help decipher the relay diagram...

Here's a link to a really quick sketch I made of what the relay looks like...notice that on the left relay, only the 85 pin is being used as a ground; none of the other pins are even present on my relay.

I started metering all of wires coming off the relay, and this is what I found out.

At rest with the actuators retracted (which i'll refer to as locked), 87a and 30 have 12volts, and 85, 86, and 87 are grounded

When the actuators are extended (unlocked), at rest, 30 and 87 read 12volts, and 85, 86 and 87a are grounded.

When locking, 85 receives 12v then goes back to ground. When unlocking, 86 receives 12v then goes back to ground.

Well I tried setting it up with a third relay, so that it would disconnect the ground at 85 and provide a momentary 12v to activate the actuators, but all it did was blow a fuse. Can anyone tell me what i'm doing wrong? I really don't understand this 5 wire setup. Thanks.

If it's worth anything, the wires coming off the actuator are red, light blue, violet, brown, and black (not sure if actuators have a universal color code like head units). The only polarity that remains a constant is the black one, which is a ground...

I did, although I didn't find anything specific to my application...i've done 2 wire systems before with no problem....I just have no idea how to isolate the two motor wires I need from the 5 wires available to me...
