i am trying to figure out what is wrong. ive installed the alarm in a 2000 cavalier. the alarm arms and remote starts fine. it will not disarm once it has been trigered, either by the panic button, shock sensor, of door triger. the only way i can get it to disarm is to pull the fuse on the white parking light wire. when i do this the siren sound changes and i press the disarm button. it will only disarm once the fuse is reinstalled.

nope it is wired right...........thats why this is so puzzling....... could it be a bad brain

Check your connections for proper contact.. You may have a ground problem..

I have had this same problem when I was installing car alarms nearly 10yrs ago.. If the ground is insufficient when the alarm triggers, the brain suffers loss of voltage needed to recieve commands.. Check all your connections,,, mainly your ground....

 after you do this, do the lights continue to flash? the siren sound changes to a lower frequency? alllmooost    lllike  sllloow mmotion, right? gotta go with advanced, double check your ground. make sure you make the ground connection in the kick panel and not at the column. also keep in mind that when the alarm is going off (triggered), that the brain is sending a signal to the pager/transmitter, therefore, you are not able to disarm it right away. you may have to disarm twice in a row in order for the brain to receive the signal from the transmitter.      analogy...............you have two lanes of traffic on both sides of a bridge, but the bridge will only allow one way traffic. you have to let the traffic from the other side travel over the bridge first (signal out from the brain)  before you can travel over the bridge(signal in to the brain). hope this helps.
