1999 voyager, Ignition sensor

 my grandma has a 1999 plymouth voyager and it has this little cylinder shaped thing that needed to be near the ignition before it owuld turn on, well that sensor is acting up, and i was wondering if it was possible to just overide it so i wouldnt need that little sensor anymore so that i can just turn on the van? i know its a security feature but i can add a kill switch later i need help turning that damm sensor off i need help! any help is appreciated!

Reconnect the starter wire under the dash.

a little more specific, there is a wire that just goes in a loop around the ignition. its a bare wire wrappep in some plastic stuff? is that anything?

you should be able to trace the wires down under the dash.......find where they cut the starter wire and reconnect the starter wire....
