Viper troubleshooting

Hi I just installed a viper 791vx into my car and it worked fine for a couple of weeks then out of nowhere it started to chirp four times every time I disarm the system and the status led flashes 3 times and the remote control displays that the door trigger has been activated for some reason. According to the manual four chirps means tamper alert. can anyone give me any pointers as to why this might be happening. p.s I have checked the operation of all the door triggers in the car and they all work just fine. each door triggers the alarm. ~Arnar

Just out of curiousity, was the alarm triggered right before this started?  Theres a possibility that your yellow Ign wire is not making contact and clearing the alarm memory when you turn the key on.  Its a remote possibility, but you never can tell.If it don't fit, Force it.

If it breaks, You needed a new one anyway!

check to make sure you dont have a pinch or short on one of the door triggers wires which might be setting the alarm off......  you may also have a funky door pin switch which could be tripping the alarm... if you trapped all the doors separately, isolate them and see if you can narrow down which door  ( circuit ) is the culprit....Kevin Gerry

I think you are right tbirdman74 that this could be because the ignition wire isn't clearing the memory. kgerry I've tested the door triggers every single wire works just like it should. Thx for the help. ~Arnar
