Hows it going? I have been searching a while and came up with the ideas for my car alarm. When I had it quoted it seemed to be a little high but I am not sure. Could someone tell me whether I am getting ripped off or if it is worth it?

Here are the specs of my alarm:

A Clifford Matrix RS 3.5 XVBST with remote start

Addons with the alarm:

1.)4 mini Piezos. Under driver dash,Under passenger dash, in trunk and one in the hood somewhere else.
2.)A DEI Backup battery for the alarm brain unit model #520T
3.)A DEI Tilt sensor model # 507T
4.)A DEI Hoodlock set model #566T
5.)2 Led light in pillar and 1 in center console

Here are the break down of the price:

Clifford Matrix 3.5B = $359.00
Parts for addon alarm = $208.00
Labor=$90.00
Tax= $46.78
For a grand total of $703.48

I need advice of the price whether I am getting ripped off on the price and of the setup of my alarm. If anyone can help me it would be appreciated.

Thanx.

It actually sounds like they are ripping themselves off on the labor.

I do not see you recieving a high quality installation based on your quoted labor dollars. Unless, you know these people personally, and they ared doing you a huge favor.
It takes alot of time, and planning, which that quote does not reflect.

I'd charge you $750 without the hoodlock. My shop doesn't carry them...and I've never done one so I couldn't price it.

what kind of vehicle?  if you have any immobilizer system they are eating some parts and labor there.  i hate paying for parts but labor is ok , as long as the shop ensures their work.  but then again, i get huge discounts and am an installer myself, so nevermind.

Get the labor in writing before having it installed and make sure that the salesman says all parts neccessary installed out the door.

I have a 1999 infiniti g20. To make sure the price doesnt change I put a $100 deposit and he gave me a work order slip and got scheduled in for next week. Does the price seem reasonable?

Regardless of price at this point. You simply will not recieve a stealthy and well thought out alarm system.
In the time indicated by the labor rate he / she has stated above.

on that car for remote start and keyless alone id charge $45 already, alarm is up to $90.  4 peizos = $60, all that other crap another $115.  thats just labor.  so 150+115 = $265 labor.  and id use a timer relay to delay the peizos from going off for about 10 seconds when the alarm is triggered, so you have time to stop a false trigger.
