hi,

im installing a remote start on my sunfire. the unit will start but then dies like 5 seconds after and i think its because i didnt hook up the tach wire.

is there a tach wire in the steering column, ive read about a white wire at the coil?  what is the coil and where is it located.

thanks

Did you bypass the Passlock system in the ignition column ? Sounds more like the Passlock than it does the tach. If it were the tacch, the starter would drag, not quit running .

the coil should be on the right side of the motor, its where all the spark plugs go.  some of the mid 90's had them behind the motor.  use white or purle/white.  its easy to get to.  that car does have passlock I and youll need a bulb check wire too.
