I recently purchased the Audiovox AX-45 from a "big blue" retailer, as a Keyless Entry remote system. I opened the unit and found options that this unit could do an optional remote start. Nowhere in the manual does it specify additional equipment for the remote start option, other then 2 relays, yet the "Highly trained" installers said it could not be done with this particular unit. I am no professinal installer and was searching for another opinion. any help would be nice..

Chances are there is an AUX channel output that will operate an optional remote starter unit that has a (-) trigger input from an alarm or keyless entry. Most systems are set up this way to accommodate expansion of the unit without having to carry around two remotes. Only draw bacj is that your range is only as good as the alarm system is capable of producing.

Jeff is correct. there is a aux channele output onnthis unit.  Your "highly trained installers" at "the big blue retailer" are also correct. There is no high current relay pack for this unit. The current needed to drive lock relays, lights, and horn honk are much less than needed to run a remote start. There is a 10 amp fuse for power and a 10 amp for lights. In remote starts there is a 10 amp fuse for the brain box and two 30 amp fuses to power the remote start.
