just installed rs on a 98 chevy truck and if you remote start it you can only shut if off with the remote.  If you push on the brake it stays on and if you put in the key, turn it on and then off, it stays on.

It should turn off when you hit the brake, it should not turn off if you put the key in turn it and then turn back and take it out. Check that the wire that is supposed to be connected to the brake switch is getting the correct voltage, Don't know what system you have but i think they usually want to see +12 when the brakes are on (correct me if i'm wrong). Anyway, check to see if pushing the gas pedal and getting the RPM up cuts the rs, most will kill it above 2000/ 3x idle speed.

Hope you get it working

Gavin

The Brake wire on the Chevy trucks is usually White.Check to see that you have 12 volts on that wire when the brake pedal is pressed

If the brake wire for the remote starter wasn't hooked up, you probably haven't programmed your remote starter. You should for proper performance and operation. If you don't you could have problems depending on the make and model of starter.
