hey, I have a 1985 F-150, and my dad installed a basic command start on it, but SOMETIMES, not all the time, it will make a rapid ticking noise when I try to start it, and wont start.. anyone know the problem? thx

sounds like the solenoid under the hood on the fender well....they acted up alot........that would be my first guess...they only cost a few bucks...

 try cleaning the battery posts and make sure everything is tight, one thing i do know is older Fords

I will have to try that solenoid, hopefully thats the prob... as for battery posts, and checking everything for being tight, we've done that like 100 times.. :( haha, thx for the reply tho.. if anyone else knows what might cause this to be happening, plz reply also... thx
