I have a vehicle with an older 550ESP installed.  I am having an issue with it.  It looses the remote memory for some reason and no remotes will work with it.  The other day I pulled the power from the alarm and it went off when i reconnected power.  I was finally able to get it to silence and reprogrammed the 3 remotes into it.  Now tonight none of the remotes work.

Anyone of hear of this problem?  If so is there a solution or is it time for a new brain?

Thanks

Jason

yes, a combo of two things: you have a wonky remote, out of the 3 there is one causing you grief, what i mean is when you learn your remotes it's almost as if one remote is learning 3 times pluse the other 2 so in reality the brain is seeing 5 remotes.
solution.....delete all the remotes from the unit, then program "only one" remote try that for a day or so...if it works you know you have a good remote, now do the same with the second remote try that, if it is good then do not code the third go and buy a new remote and toss the old one away.
take care.
sweet.

Don't know about the deleting of the remotes but, I have seen cold solder joints where the antenna meets the board causing horrible range issues.

I can put the remotes right up next to where the brain is mounted and nothing.  It learns all three remotes just fine and they all work fine later, then suddenly they are all dead.

Might just be time to try and warranty it or get a new one.

Check your ground as well. A fault ground can cause the system to drop the remote programming like you described. Even if it looks good, test it with a DMM to be sure. Remember anything under 10 ohms is good.
