I just finished hooking a Viper 350HV into our 2000 Monte Carlo SS. The install went well, but I'm having some trouble getting the entry illumination to work with the 10 minute retained power. If I leave the entry illumination unconnected, the vehicles retained accessory power works fine. However, as soon as the entry illumination wire is connected (through a relay) to one of the door trigger wires at the BCM, the retained power stops working. Are there any other spots that I could hook the entry illumination wire up to, and retain the convienence of the retained power? Thanks in advance for the help!

I should mention that the retained aceessory power is a factory feature on this vehicle, not something that hte alarm added. Entry Illumination/ Retained Power Accy -- posted image.

Try interfacing directly with the interior illumination circuit (after the BCM). The RAP system on GM's need to "see" an open door in order to shut off after the ign. switch is turned off. So, when the alarm turns on the interior ilumination by pulsing a doorpin, it turns off RAP at the same time. Go after the BCM and power the interior illumination itself, and it should leave the RAP in an on state.
