Hi, I'm installing a Viper VX160 in a 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix with PK3. I have it mostly in and am now left with 2 relays and the module which holds a spare key to trick the PK3. I bought all the parts at best buy, the relays are Bosch mini giants. I have no clue how to hook them up! Help! I have electrical schematics on the car and have only gotten this far with the help of the posts in this forum. Thanks a lot for all your help! If anyone can explain this or show a diagram I would be grateful. It is a b-day gift for my wife and I would like it to work as It was not cheap with all the relays and key mod. Thanks in advance,

Brent

You will need the relays to do the doorlocks. Set them up for a negative output. Here's how:
Pin 85, 30 on both relays go to ground
Pin 87 on each relay will be the output..... put a 1500 ohm resistor on one of them. GM doorlocks on those cars use one wire, a straight ground will unlock, ground through 1500 ohms will lock. Both relay outputs (pin 87 on each) will be both feeding the white wire in the door harness (the harness that is visible coming out by the brake and going back to the firewall)
Pin 86- one relay will go to the lock output, the other relay goes to the unlock output.
Fot trunk release, use the output (RED / white) straight off the brain to drive the BLACK/ white wire in the same door harness as the locks will be found in. The car uses a negative trigger, which the brain outputs.
For the transponder bypass module:
The ground when running input of it goes to the status output. Status output is on the 4 wire harness that is included and plugs into the satellite relay pack of the 160XV. You will not require the pink, orange,or purple wires on the same little harness. 12V will also have to go to the bypass module. As far as the antenna goes, it needs to be placed in close proximity of the factory antenna that is located around the ignition cylnder.
Hope this helps!

Thanks a ton for the helpful information gus. I all I needed was a prod in the right direction. I will have a crack at it if I get off work in daylight this week and get back here to let you know how it works. I got the bypass mod in, just didn't know what to do with all the wires and the install directions are T.P.. Does anyone know where to view, download, or buy the install manuals used by installers? Who writes them? Would be nice to have one.

Thanks again gus, probsbly just saved me days of research. If you need any building advice--give a holler I'm a contractor.
