I have a 2003 dodge ram and I am trying to install a compustar remote stater(1wam-s).My question is where do I get the tach signal from?I believe my truck has one coil per cylinder, can I use the tan/red wire at one coil or do I need to find another source? Also do I need to hook-up The emergency brake wire if I do not want the turbo timer?  Thanks Vanram

Thats the wire I show you need to use. The E-Brake connection is mandatory for manual transmission vehicles.

Just to confirm your information, I should hook up the tach wire to one of the eight coils(tan/red wire). If I have an automatic and do not hook-up the emergency brake wire, should I leave the wire open or ground it out?

The tach wire should be found at the coil pack (foolow the plug wires to the coil pack) and should be a tan / red wire. It will show AC voltage on your meter above 1 volt if it is the correct wire. If I remember correct the 1wams has a tach learn button that will indicate if you have the right tach wire or not. Page 9 of the manual should show you the sequence for tach learn.

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.
