Uh... What are you installing that you need the fuel pump wire?
Usually if you are installing an alarm what you would need is the ignition wire and that can usually be found at the ignition harness under the driver's dash.

get a computer safe test light, and find the wire in the kick panel, or under the seat in most cars that when ignition is turned on it shows 12 volts the goes to ground untill you start the car, then while it is running it shows 12 volts again, once you've found this wire cut it while the car is running and the car should slowly sputter out, this is the correct wire, if you cut the wrong wire and the car keeps running shut it off and re-solder that wire before going on.
i have done MANY immobilizers and the 3rd disabling feature that is required for them is the fuel interupt curcuit.
post me back and i will see if i can get you the information on the car your working on.
sweet.

It might make your job easier to just look at the top of the fuel pump module (usually under the back seat in cars) and note the wire color. Then find that same wire closer to the front of the car.

you still need to test the wire. at the fuel pump itself there could be 20 of the same wire color and the same gauge. and to even think that you will get the right one first try is wishful thinking.
i belive that testing a wire makes more sense than guessing.
but thats just me.

Obviously you'd want to test any wires you find. There are only going to be about 4 wires: Two (2) wires for the pump itself and 2 wires for the sender gauge.

If you tell us what car you are working on it may be easier to find out information.

If your  using this circuit to break for a immobilization point try looking in the fuse box and find the fuse marked fuel or engine fuse , to verify that it will stall the vehicle start it and pull the fuse if it stalls use the thinner guage wire from that fuse ( cold side ) .
