Hello, does anybody have the features list of this alarm?  I read some where that you can use a code grabber on this remote, so I'm wondering if this alarm has some sorta anti scan or code hopping feature?  Also, are the proxy sensors from Alpine any good or can I just install a proxy sensor from DEI to the Alpine 8080?  Thank you

I thought Alpine was no longer in the security business? The 8080 is one old school alarm brain, I'll dig through my dungeon and see if I can find an old book for it.

Top Secret, I can tell you but then my wife will kill me.

Thanks, yeah it is old.  My friend had it laying around so I bought a kit from him for a good price.  Any opinions about this alarm?  He told me it was one of the best alarms out back in the day.  Thats all I really know about it.

Your friend is right, the 8080 was the first LCD alarm system of it's kind back in the day. The alarm was retailing for about $ 1100 Canadian and had tons of features for it's time. It does have anti code hopping techology on it though.

Does anybody know if I can use DEI's proximity sensor with this alarm?  Or if the Alpines proximity sensor any good?  I would like to have my car very sensitive.  Thanks

You can only use Alpine's system because the settings for the sensor are built into the CPU, it is not a separate adjustment on the sensor itself.

:(   I really like the DEI's proxy sensor.  Do you know what model Alpine proxy sensor I have to buy or can use?  Also, how sensitive are the sensors?  Thank you again

If you wanted to you could probably install the DEI prox sensor to the various (-) inputs of the Alpine system.
