Alpine Alarm Questions

Hi, I just bought a used Alpine SEC-8028 alarm, and I'm going to be installing it in my '88 Toyota Celica GT-S. I've installed alarms in my '94 Celica and my other '88 Celica, so I have a pretty good idea as to what to do. My original plans were to have three sirens(one of which would have a battery backup) and a glass breakage and tilt sensor installed in addition to the unit's impact sensor. But seeing as how this alarm has a simple two-wire impact sensor hookup, I'm not sure how I'd go about doing this. I'm only familiar with how to do it with the conventional four-wire alarm sensor setups. If anyone has any good information about this, please let me know. The rest of my questions are below. 1. Alpine's install manual states that up to five LEDs can be wired in series. The alarm came with one LED, and I want to have at least three(one on the dash and one on the top of each door panel.) Do I need to get 12 volt LEDs or just the standard-voltage(1.7-2.2v DC) LEDs to wire them in series? 2. For the LEDS, my alarm puts out +20mA for them...it looks like most LEDs use that much power though. What needs to be done about this so that I don't do anything wrong? 3. This alarm has an odd door-lock wiring setup. Looking at the install manual and knowing that my door locks are negative trigger, would I hook up the GREEN/ red and BROWN / red wires to ground, the WHITE/ green wire to my unlock wire, and the WHITE/ brown wire to my lock wire? Thanks!

1. Use 2 volt leds 2. The alarm will be fine with 3 leds 3. There is nothing odd about it. It has built in relays and just has the wires for the pins. Just wire the common wires, GREEN/ red and BROWN / red, to ground(if negative trigger). Then use the normally common wires as your outputs, WHITE/ green and WHITE/ brown.Certified Security Specialist
