No climate control with remote start?

Hi,

Just had a Viper 791 installed in my 92 Mercedes 400E at an authorized Viper dealer.  I am told that I can not have climate control when the car is running with the remote start.  Other power options in the car do work under remote start (windows, rear defrost, etc). 

Also, I purchased the proximity sensor, which was hooked up instead of the shock sensor.  I was under the impression both sensors could be hooked up together, which is what I wanted, but am told otherwise.

Can anyone shed some light on this?

Also --

Just noticed aftermarket alarm will arm the factory alarm, but does not disarm it.  So if I remote start while locked/armed the factory alarm goes off.

Yah i agree with AutoAcoustics.  There may be more than 1 accessory wire that needs to be powered up for the climate control to work.  And there should be a factory alarm disarm installed also.  And you can install both sensors, just have to diode them.  I saw a link how to do it, but I can't remember where it was.  It was in someones signiture.

Thanks for the replies, but that wasnt exactly what I was looking for.  I am quite capable of handling my own business affairs.  And before I get angry--and get the guys who will be working on my car angry--demanding my money back, it's better to give them a chance to correct the issues.

What I am looking for is installer's experience.  If you've put a remote start in a 86-94 W124 Mercedes (300E,400E,500E,E320,E420,E500) please let me know if the climate control worked.  If so, how did you do it. 

I called Viper, but the techs won't talk to a consumer for "insurance" reasons.  What nonsense.

Here is my 1.64cents Canadian...... what the installers will need to do is diode isolate both the impact and proximity sensors, 4 diodes in total, one on each trigger line. Basically they will take the intrusion line and the preintrusion line and Y each line, on the ends of each Y is where the diode will go. Then each sensor can be hooked up to the proper line. The diodes are necessary to keep each sensor from interfering with each other.

For the remote start issue it sounds like they have missed a line. The heater is controlled either by an ACC or IGN circuit. Put the keys in the ignition and turn it to ACC, does the heater work? No, turn the ignition to on, does the heater work. It should work in either one or both of these positions. If it does, then they have indeed missed powering up an additional line like a 2nd ACC (rare) or 2nd IGN (more common).
