I am having a problem with my Ford OEM Dealer installed alarm.  I have a 2002 F150 with the Ford Series 3 or maybe 4 alarm.(Manual says series 3 and 4)  A few weeks ago I had my battery disconnected to install a brake controller for my trailer.  When I hooked the battery back up the alarm went off.  I tried to use the remote but that did not work.  I had to hit the little button under the dash and turn my key on to get it to stop.

Now for the problem:

The alarm will arm with the remotes or the door lock switch, but it will not disarm.  As soon as I hit the unlock button on the remote the alarm sounds.  I had to put the alarm into valet mode to stop it from going off every time I unlock my truck.  Is there any way to reprogram the alarm?  Everything was working perfect until I disconnected the battrey.  I have called 10 different dealers and not of them will touch it.

Thanks

You need a real tech, not a dealer. These things scare them away.

Reply to this post with your city/state, hopefully someone monitoring this board is near you and can help.

If in MA, I may be able to help, I love a good challenge!

Howdy All,

I am New to this forum, with a similar problem, I just replaced my blower motor in my 1997 E250 cargo van, I bought this van used and it has what seems like a factory installed alarm, well when i reconnected the battery the alarm sounded for the first time in at least 3 years as I have neverused it, a friend showed me how to turn it off by turning the key on and pressing the button under dash, I would like to ask, What would I have to do to get an alarm activator / deactivator, Is it possible that there is a remote starter and / or automatic door locks and how could I tell?

Thank You All,

Robert

It says FORD Vehicle Secuity System on the Brain.  There are 3 plugs.

1 goes to the siren 2 wires.

1 goes to the starter disable.  4 wires.

1 goes to everything else  looks like 18 to 25 wires.
