hey all,

I've installed one of these sensors in my own vehicle as well as a customer's vehicle and can adjust it and test it perfectly, but with my vehicle the range seemed to have adjusted itself overnight and it is now not nearly as sensitive. On the customer's car we experienced the same problem but we believe this is due to the fact that the sensor was placed under the center console/parking brake area of an integra and he placed a crap load of spare change in the tray right above where the sensor is located.

As for my vehicle... I have no interior in it right now... just carpet.. the sensor is sitting dead center in the vehicle (long ways - front to back) and there is nothing obscructing it. However... I can adjust it perfectly, test it, works great. Then the next day the first stage (warn) won't even go off until I stick my hand inside and the second stage (full alarm) won't go off until I'm a few inches away from the sensor. WTF?! I adjusted it the day before and it worked flawlessly.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

I had problems with that sensor before. the old ones were temperature sensitive. when it got cold the range shrank and when it got hot the range expanded. customers came in all the time to have them adjusted. DEI said that they fixed that problem.

back when Clifford was Clifford and not DEI they made a prox sensor that was adjustable by the customer. it was great until the prox would lock up sometimes. how I miss the good days of Clifford.
