i am long time installer but i had a jeep gc with the same problem and am to so to my new 1995 gc you remove the dash pad the screws are above ther speedo and the radio and the acces is throught the glove comparmnet has a couple of holes in it  and then remove the black peice across the center deforster vents there will be i think 4 7mmor phillips the farleft and right sides of the dash willpop lose and theren remove the trim around the radio s screw above the popcket or vic and one behind the ash tray no you can start romveing the glove box section  once you get that out the mod is too the far left side tuck behind that peice of plastic you might have to use some force to get it to come loose then unplug it with the ign key on turn it off then try to start any question call any time 813-690-4438 thanks todd
