Had a Astrostart 1105 remote starter installed with keyless entry and trunk release. When the car is locked and my wife releases the trunk the horn sounds off (factory alarm). Only way to shut this down is close the trunk lid and press the unlock button. Now if we unlock the car first then press the trunk release it don't activate the factory alarm. We never had to do this with the factory setup...What could be wrong?

your system is confusing itself from the factory alarm.
i have done many nissans, the maxima and the altima as well as the lexus sedans are almost identical.....as far as the wiring is concerned anyways. the factory alarm, keyless entry and the trunk release wiring all located in the door if the installer didn't do this wiring properly you will have problems. as an installer i know how much time is involved running wiring into the door of a car through the factory door boot, and it isn't all that much fun. i also belive that the unit you have may not have the functions required to do what you need it to, such as factory alarm disarm, re-arm after shutdown, disarm with keyless, as well as dis-arm with trunk release. all of this "if" connected correctly and programmed right will work perfect. i have done lots of these cars and learned the correct way to install on them. by the way if you have auto lamps on that car you can also control them to shut down.....they will turn of 30-50 seconds afer the car is shut off, or the car starter runs it's duration and then duplicates the factory actions. usually all fo what i have just stated is charged for.
hope i helped.
sweet.
