Hi guys ,I've kind of been avoiding aleros because of the difficulty accessing the ign and data wires. On most dash-mounted chevs ,I popout the radio and wire through there. However with the alero -no access.I read that it is very easy to get at if I remove the instrument  panel. Is this recommended? is there any special tips needed to remove it, like hidden clips, plugs etc.? should I disconnect the battery? Iwould appreciate some feedback as to what others do for these vehicles..

Thanks,Bruce

the cluster is 4 screws, you pop it out and lay it under a towel up on the top of the dash.... wire up your RS and pop it back in... easy as poop... dont be afraid of the unknown guys, often it's easier that the way you are used to.....

The only wire that you need to get at with the Alero, Malibu & Intrigue is the 2nd Ign wire. All other wires you can access at the loom going into the engine through the driver's side by the firewall. This is where I access the parking lights, brake lights, tach wire, all ignition wires ( with the exception of the 2nd IGN wire ).

i dont even unplug the cluster, just unscrew it and pull it up and set in on top of the dash.... it's less work than R&Ring the radio in an Alero.....
