I have a new Autopage RS-750lcd remote start/alarm, I only need the remote start feature. I reviewed the wiring diagrams from this website...but they do not match exactly with my 1999 GMC Jimmy. Two questions:

1. Do I have to hook up all the alarm pins?..can I leave some of them floating?

2. Does anybody have any other wiring diagrams that show locations, circuit numbers, colors for my 1999 Jimmy (anything different from this website?)

Notes:

NOTE: This vehicle has the passlock II immobilizer system *1 The BCM is located to the right of the accelerator pedal below the radio. The plugs on the BCM face towards the drivers side. *2 Use tan for the drivers door located in pin B4 of the purple plug, orange for the passenger door located in pin B2 of the purple plug, and dk. blue/white for the rear doors and rear hatch located in pin B11 of the lt. blue plug, must diode isolate these wires. *3 The PCM is located on the passenger fender. On the 2.2L the wire is in a black 80 pin plug pin 10, and on the 4.3L the wire is in a red 32 pin plug pin 20. *4 This wire will not test when using the headlight switch. This wire is triggered by the DRL system. To meter the wire, start the car with the parking brake set, when the brake is released this wire will go to ground. *5 Also found in the brown plug at the BCM on vehicles with a factory alarm.

You do not have to use any of the alarm inputs if you do not want to use them. You will need the HOOD pin for safety though.

Great...

Do I have to use the large gauge wires from the steering column (like the orange +12, Pink run/start)? or can I simply connect the remote start to the BCM Brown plug org or A2 for the orange?

oh...how do I get to the PCM ...you state passenger fender...is this inside the car or under the hood or really bolted somewhere under the fender?...I am in Fargo now...too cold to check right now!

you will need to hook up all the large wires .

alarm to car

red to red

red to red /white or red

yellow to pink

pink to white

brown to orange

purple to yellow

you will need to tap parklights and door trigger , brake positve and door locks . also on the 8 pin black harness make sure you ground the black /white wire or remote start wont work . you can change the programming to voltage sense instead of getting a tach. i hooked up tach on mine and it would always shut off . so i changed to voltage and it worked fine . in fact all the dodge's i do i have to do this . good luck let me know if you need more help i do about 15 of those installs a month .

I realized after I posted that the heavier gauge was needed for the higher current (simulating an ignition switch...duh!)...It looks like I also need to tap into the Lt/Green (B9 on the lt blue BCM)...and connect it to the yellow wire H9/1 on the 6 pin autopage harness...it will ground the key-in circuit before the start and remains grounded while running....

Do I need to buy one of your VATSII disablers?

i have never hooked up the lt grren in any gm vehicle. also you will need to bypass the passlock

Last question ..for tonight anyway :) If I am not going to use the alarm functions...do I need to worry about the parking lights, door locks, door switches...I was going to continue to use my exsiting GM keyFob to lock unlock and arm the vehicle.?

The LIGHT GREEN wire is your key sense wire. It's not necessary but some Immobilizer bypasses need this to be connected. You need to hook up the parking lights because it gives you a visual confirmation that the remote starter engaged properly. Otherwise you do not need to hook up the door locks or the triggers.

if you wanted to keep your factory alarm than why didn't you just buy a add on and use three clicks of the lockside of your factory alarm to activate remote start i have done a lot of these in escalades and stuff it works (dei) products have a small remote start that is great for this reason.

i guess i dont understand why you want to carry 2 remotes . the autopage unit replaces all the factory functions and you only need to carry one remote
