what do you mean a bad idea? compustar makes r/s's for standards and autos, did you maybe have trouble with one? what the heck do you mean "laws against it"? explain yourself rather then give a poor explanation.

most remote start system will crank the starter until it reads a stable tach signal and the will attemp this for about six seconds before shutting down . I have seen r/s systems fitted to manual vehicles before and it is a bad idea , you cuould try riging up some type of switch to sense that it is not in gear but if it fails and you have the car in gear it is very dangerouse. I have seen a car been remote started on a manual that was in gaer and it caused a lot of damage ( thank got there was no people or children walking by .)

the clutch switch is a positve type, just attach your crank wire to the car side of the switch.

there is a law against it and you can be charged with some serious things in the event of an accident ! Yes some companies make a remote start for standard transmission cars but there is a long processes to insure that the vehicle is not in gear. U have to remote start it before you get out and it shuts down after the door is closed to ensure the car is not in gear, if the alarm goes off then it will not start.
