Can anyone help me with the installation of an Ultra Start 1256 M car starter. I have installed the car starter using information from here and the install manual. I am getting a tach lock out message. I have had the tach wire connected to the instrument harness-green and black wire and also the black wire at the ecm in the 26 pin connector. I'm sure its something very simple. Thanks for any help!

rerun your blue/white to one of the fuel injectors wires. This would be anyone that is not common on all the other injectors. Do a system reset and start the car. The leds on the ant. should start flashing . If so wait 45 seconds till the horn honks twice and you are good to go.

Okay, I connected the tach wire to one of the injectors. The LED's light up and after 30 -35 seconds the parking lights flash. After this the LED's turn off. When  I try to use the remote start, it gives me a reservation mode code. If I try to put it in reservation mode the truck will not stay running after the first 2 steps. Sorry to be such a pain. Thank you again!

make sure the pink goes to the brake wire and the BLACK/ white goes to the handbrake wire(or put it to ground for the testing only)

get in the car...close the door start the car by KEY, put the handbrake or if it is already grounded...go to next step

press the brake 2 times, you should see the parking lights falsh and come on or if you have the horn connected it will honk

make sure it is in nuetral, take out the key , the car should still be running.....open the door and when you close the door(make sure you have the doorpin wire connected to either the green or purple from the starter) the car should turn off by itself

then try the remote starter.....should start.....if not ...do a reset, and program the tach again.

good luck

Testing is the key

I want to thank both Biker8018 and slicksam for their help. The remote start is up and running. The only problem I have now is that the heater fan will not run when using the remoter start. I connected the GREEN/ heater output wire from the remote start harness to the red and blue wire of the toyota harness. Thanks again for all the help!
