Hello, I just installed (for the first time) a Compustar 2WSS-AS into an 01 Jeep Wrangler with manual transmission.  Everything seems to work just fine except...you guessed it...remote start.  I'm confused because, when I set "reservation mode", everything works as it should, i.e., Jeep continues to run without the key, I open and close the door, the alarm arms, and the car turns off.  So when I try to remote start, the error code I'm getting is telling me I'm not in reservation mode.  From the time I set reservation mode and leave the car, to the time I try to remote start, I do nothing to the car that would interfere with reservation mode.  Anyone have any ideas?  I think I'd feel better if reservation mode didn't work at all, at least that would be something to work with.  Also, don't know if it matters, but I do not have auto door locks hooked up yet, as I'm installing aftermarket actuators and haven't finished that yet.  Any help is much appreciated.

With the Jeep, when you close the door and the car shuts down, does the dome light turn on and then slowly shut off ? If so, this will cause the Compustar to think that the door was open again after you shut the door. Post your answer.

Hi, thanks for your post.  I started to think about that actually.  The deal is, I disconnected my dome light in order to flip my soundbar over so it's located over the front seats (for the speakers).  I did not reconnect the domelight.  However, on the wiring diagram I got for an 01, it says the dome light wire is yellow, then it says the D side door wire is tan and the P side door is tan/white.  I figured since I wasn't using the dome light, I could connect the door pin switch to the dome light wire.  So, that's what I did and both doors now trigger the alarm when opened.  The Compustar also states that dome light supervision is "not available" on manual transmission, which was another reason I figured I could use the wire for the door switch.  Do you think I need to connect to the door pin switches per the wiring diagram?  If so, it says to diode isolate each wire.  Please let me know what you think.  Thanks.

Hey Laura, use the TAN wire for the driver's door and TAN / YELLOW for the passengerside door and wire in the diodes like this :

This will separate each door from the each other and should solve your problem. The dome light will stay on after the Jeep shuts down so if you diode isolate the door trigger's this will go around the dome light, hopefully. If it doesn't, email me back and I'll send you a relay diagram that will help with the dome light turn on after shut down. I had this problem on Thursday with a manual transmission Ford Focus where the dome light turned on after the doors closed and reset the Compustar to think that the doors opened after shut down.

Hi Jeff, thanks!  I figured I was going to have to do that and was planning on it when the weather warms up here a bit.  I looked back at the wiring schematic and you're right, tan and tan / YELLOW.  Thanks for the diode diagram.  Do I just use 1A diodes?  The diodes I got say "rectifier" diodes.  Will those work?

Using the 1 amp diodes will suffice, just make sure that you have the cathode band facing the proper way otherwise it will not work
