Hi,

Does anyone have the wiring diagram for a 2005 Toyota 4runner? Im trying to install a remote starter and came across a few problems. When i try to remote start the car it just cranks for a few seconds but doesnt start. It starts fine when i use the key. Is this because it has a factory alarm? There are still two wires that i havent hooked up yet, the ALARM DISARM wire (-400MA) and the TACH wire. Where should i hook these wires to? And is a seperate relay needed. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Hong

GREEN/ YELLOW (-)Keysense wire(steering column) ----will disarm w/o unlocking. use relay!
TACH---check at diagnostic port in the engine compartment, black wire. test w/ a DMM, 1-6v AC, increase in voltage as RPM increase

The 4Runner also has an Immobilizer system in it that you will need to loop a wire around the ignition barrel. After you attach the tach wire to the system and learn the tach signal from the 4Runner, place the key in the ignition and try to remote start the truck. If all wires are correct you should have a successful remote start, now try it without the key in the ignition and you will get a no start siutation happening. Use a universal bypass module for this truck.

Its doing exactly as you described. I can remote start the car as long as the key is in the igntion. Im also installing a remote starter in my sisters 2004 Solara and its doing the same thing. Looks like ill need two of those bypass modules. Thanks guys.

The Solara will also need a universal type bypass. You will loos a key to each vehicle in order for the universal bypass modules to work.
