viper 690xv - how to adjust sensetivity

i had a viper 690 put into my scion TC this morning. now that i'm home i'm looking to adjust the sensitivity of the shock sensor but i didn't see the install guide or owners guide mentioning it. is it adjustable? i called the install shop but they're closed for the holidays. also, can somebody tell me if its possible to hook up a proximity sensor to the 690xv? if so, can somebody explain what wires i need to connect? thanks much

As for the shock sensor, if you look at it closely you might see the adjustment screw on it. I know it's somewhere on there, just cant remember exactly where. As for the prox sensor I remember doing one a couple of years ago but its been so long since i ever installed one, so I'm not to sure about how to wire it up. Other than there's a RED / BLACK/ blue/green. Red & Black are the obvious one's, but i dont remember where the blue or green goto, sorry.

can somebody tell me if the 690xv come with a DUAL STAGE shock sensor? i look at the installation guide and it said there is an optional dual stage sensor. is the factory one not a dual-stage? if so, can somebody tell me where i can purchase a dual stage and if it can plug into the same port as the factory sensor?

690XV comes with the dual stage shock sensor. Pre warn, and full trigger. To wire in a prox.... first, find the shock sensor.   There will be a 4 wire plug on it containing a blue, green, red, and black wire. The ble and green should be already tied together. DEI uses a multiplexed input for their sensors, so all you will have to do is tie the green and blue together on the proximity sensor, hook it up to the green at the shock. Red and black are obvious. There should be instructions on this with the proximity (assuming purchase of a 508D) As far as how to adjust the shock sensor, it is a small clearbox with an orange trimpot on the side..... clockwise for more, counterclockwise for less. Gus Wherever I go, that is where I end up......

thanks for your reply. my car does not chirp to warn when i pound on it lightly. if i pound hard enough, the siren goes off full trigger. i looked at the wiring last night, on the white plug containing the 4 wires from the shock sensor that plugs into the brain,i think the green wire is just a loop and not connected to anything. i'm sorry for my lack of the terminology, "tie the green and blue together" means to just connect the end of the green to the end of the blue wire, right? is my alarm installed correctly right now with the loop in the green wire? i don't have time to take the car back to the install shop till wednesday, and i'd like to find out the info before hand.

bump, the 508D prox sensor arrived today and when i went to take a look under the car, i saw that the green wire coming from the shock sensor was cut. it was cut so there is no green wire coming out the shock sensor at all. is this the reason that my car does not have a warn-away chirp and only goes full alarm?

In the instructions for the 508D...... there will be wiring instructions. In there somewhere will be exactly what I described bout the multiplexing. The green loop should be at the sensor end of the harness (pluuged in to the shock sensor.) Tie the blue and green together of the 508D. They get connected to the green wire that is loose at that end. Gus Wherever I go, that is where I end up......

when i looked at the wiring, the green loop was at the end of the harness plugged into the brain. the green wire at the other end of the harness, plugged into the shock sensor has been cut w/ no wiring left at all. i get no warn-away chirps at all, only full siren blasts. i'm wondering if the shock sensor is installed wrong.

Yup....loop goes at sensor end. Better head back to the shop and request a new shock harness. Gus Wherever I go, that is where I end up......
