Im installing an alarm w/remote start on my 2004 Ranger the remote start came w/ a system to bypass the pats system. there are two ways of doing this, using the ring antenna supplied, or (if the vehicle has a built in antenna ring (which ours does)) splicing into the two wire coming from it. well i chased the wires down and at the end of the protective sleeve there were 4 wires . .. does any one know which to splice or what the hell im supposed to do??? thanx, ive spent a good 2.5-3 hrs trying to figure this one out.
BTW i have already tried the ring method with no success.

Is the unit you have for bypasing the keyless style?  And if it is.....you need 2 keys to program it. Or is it  the one you put a key into......I would avoid cutting the factory pats wires at all costs, I have heard on this site about peopledoing that and F***ing up the whole system.

Make sure that the unit is being operated correctly.

no, i have the extra key and it in the right spot all programmed and everything (tested and works) it seems that the ring around the ignition is connected directly to a little circuit board, from this board comes the sleeved 4 wires that run down the steering column under the dash to a connector, all 4 wire colors change at the connector if that means anything
