Hi Guys: My son brought a 94 Ford Ranger with a Astrostart 2503 installed in it. I noted that when I got the user guide for the 2503 that the unit was designed for manual transmission and carburated vehicles. The truck that it is installed in is fuel injected and automatic. It does work except the door unlock and lock is wired backwards. Can someone send me an installation guide for the Astrostart 2503 so that I may correct the wiring and check the programming? We need to extend the run time and check if this unit is installed correctly with all the safeties, ect. Tks for your help.

i am not familiar with that unit nor do i have a manual for it. as far as the locks go you can get your dmm and test thewires at the module to see which two wires pulse when you press the lock and unlock on the remote. then simply switch them.

Tks misterjimbo
I plan to do that but my son wants to extend the run time also. The pragramming information is normally in the installation guide that you normally do not get when installer installs it. We should give the customer all the information. Although that is very dangerous because the customer while make a change, miss up the unit so it doesn't work then come back for warranty. Right.

the relay control colors for lock and unlock are BLUE and BROWN  swap those on the relays....and that should fix the locks. (if the problem is you push LOCK and the truck unlocks)

To extend the runtime, at the dip switches put 2,5,and6 in the up posostion. Hit the brake pedal ONE TIME, then after the brain clicks and flashes its LED, put the switche in the DOWN pos. and hit the brake 1 time...your done!!!

This is all done WITHOUT THE KEY IN THE IGN.
