Hey everyone,

This weekend I'm going to be putting a remote start / alarm in a 97 probe gt and I had a few questions.  First of all I know that the lock / unlock uses the same wire and one needs the 4700ohm resistor.... can I get one of those from radio shack?  Do I need to put a diode after the resistor?

Also, I know the factory disarm wire, and I know the remote start has a factory disarm lead, so just hook these two together or do I need a bypass module of some sort?  Are the rest of the wires in this car easy to locate?

Thanks in advance

-Bob

lock is positive trigger, unlock is positive trigger through a 4700ohm resistor.   the wire is GREEN/ black in the driver kick panel.  you dont need any diodes but you need to use relays, one for lock and one for unlock.  factory alarm disarm is not needed.

Well the diagram from this site says there is a factory disarm wire... thats all I saw so I was assuming it has a stock theft system or something... I just want to take the car apart once, not 3 or 4 times trying to figure extra stuff out.

Thanks

Alarm is installed and all is well... thanks for the help guys.

Oh lol someone already had one in there.. it was a "CHAPMAN" and it had a huge shock sensor...  I was trying to figure out how it was wired and it started sparking all over the place (LOL)... all kinds of bare wires, etc... but now is all well.  I installed a cheap pager alarm / remote start off ebay and it went quite well and the unit works very well... I prefer my autopage to it (for remote functionality) but overall I was impressed.

ANYWAYS, I'll be back for my next install! 8-)
