I previously installed a remote starter in a 1999 hyundai elantra for my grandfather and it works perfectly in warm weather but in the winter it doesn't allow the engine to crank long enough for a cold start. i believe it is because i did not connect the tach wire to the negative terminal of the coil but i cannot locate the coil. if anyone has a engine or wiring diagram for this vehicle and this application it would be greatly appreciated.

These alarms that claim to NOT need a tach wire......thats insane.

Connect the tach, allways!  In most cases it only adds 20 to 30 min. extra install time. And you don't have to go back and try and make it work. (like now)

BROWN / Red  or Blue / YELLOW @ the coil pack. Its a dual coil pack, each wire provides a 2 cyl. reading
