2005 Honda Accord Alarm

There are several manufactures of interface modules that control the door locks and security system.

It sound to me like the installer was lazy, or un-informed!  These modules allow the aftermarket unit to control the factory one. 

Need more information from you before someone gets burned. Does the Clifford system control the door locks as well or is it only yhe OEM system that controls the door locks ? In most cases you do not need to remove any OEM components to make an aftermarket system operate. They can operate in synch of each other as long as the installer installed it this way. Most vehicles have an OEM arm and disarm wire that aftermarket systems can control along with it's own security system. Lets hear back from this member before we jump to conclusions about this installation and the installer.

Yes my aftermarket Clifford is controlling the OEM alarm.

Clifford is controlling the door locks and overriding the OEM alarm on the door locks also.

I just figured why keep both systems active, because if the OEM goes bad or eventually

causes problems,....then I'll have a bill to get it fixed then to keep it interfering with the

Clifford alarm which is the only one I want.

What do you guys think??

New Question: I had them enable Auto Arm today, but the funny thing is.....the alarm

maybe chirps when it  arms but doesnt give me a Notification Chirp before it arms.

One of the guys in the shop said that the Newer DEI alarms dont do this, even though the older

ones did. The guy programming my alarm is doing it by the Valet Switch and Remote method,

if this is possible ???(Notification Arming Chirp) , then maybe I should pay someone to program the alarm with Windows Software to get it to do what I want???
